Robert Lee "Bob" Taylor, 84, of Granite City, Ill., born July 22, 1931, in Dover, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Bob was a Korean War veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On May 23, 1959, Bob married Geraldine "Gerri" Hubler, the love of his life in Pinckneyville, Ill. He was a faithful member of City Temple Church in Granite City, Ill. Bob had retired from Granite City Steel as a pipefitter in 1990 after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing softball in his younger years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, whom he adored. Bob will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline, nee Lane, Taylor; and his brother, Edward Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gerri Taylor of Granite City, Ill.; dear sons, Dave (Jamie) Taylor, Jeff (Megan) Taylor and Greg (Marissa) Taylor all of Granite City, Ill.; proud grandfather to Amanda (Peter) Povalitis, Drew (Heather) Taylor, Emily (Chad) Imboden, Cory Taylor, Jenna Taylor, Matthew Taylor and Gracie Taylor; proud great-grandfather to Ruby, Lucia, Caroline, Sebastian, Esther, Shiloh and Jameson; dear sisters, Lovell Pruett and Laverne Dawson; extended family and many friends.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at City Temple Church, 4751 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at City Temple Church with Pastor Curt Wolfe officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
