Robert Louis Tottleben, 67, of Maryville, Ill., born Nov. 19, 1948 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away at 1:40 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at his residence.
Robert was a 1966 Collinsville High School graduate. He attended Southern Illinois University, and was certified as a machine operator. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after 19 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar, and boating. He liked to watch Cardinals baseball, and old cowboy movies. Robert was a member of Christadelphian Fellowship in Troy, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Tottleben.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra L., nee Brown, Tottleben, whom he married on Sept. 16, 2000; his mother, Shirley, nee Buhl, Tottleben of Portage, Ind.; a son, Thomas (Malinda) Tottleben of Maryville, Ill.; a daughter, Rachel (Jay) Bateman of Pace, Fla.; a stepson, Eric Grote of Granite City, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Jeannie (Bob) Adamick of St. Jacob, Ill.; six grandchildren, Samantha, Jeremiah and Jacob Tottleben, Riley Shultz, Nicole Haworth, and Hannah Tilden; five step-grandchildren, Wesley, Kayla and Nicholas Grote, Rachel and Tanner Adamick; a great-granddaughter, Emily Haworth; a step-great-grandson, Cayson Ball; four sisters, Patricia (Ron) Kidd of Canada, Barbara (Ron) Bryan of Washington, Elizabeth Kopjas of Missouri, and Dorothy (Jerry) Asbury of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Donald (Sheila) Brown of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Wayne) McCrea of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Kathy Brown of Staunton, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home with Jimmy Asbury officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
