Ronald W. Kocurek, 74, of Cahokia, Ill., born Dec. 8, 1941, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., due to lung cancer.
Ron was a retired dispatcher for the Cahokia Police Dept.;
and was employed by G and B Bus Service in Dupo, Ill. He was a member of Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Cahokia, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Seraphine and O'Linda, nee Taylor, Kocurek; two brothers, Sam and Gene; and a sister, Mary Lou.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Melba J., nee Lexa, Kocurek; his sons, Gary (Lesley) Kocurek of Florissant, Mo., Kevin (Donna) Kocurek of O'Fallon, Ill., and Scott (Janice) Kocurek of Belleville, Ill.; two brothers, Nick (Pat) Kocurek of Cahokia, Ill., and Tom Kocurek of Grand Prairie, Texas; a sister, Barbara Hinton of Pasadena, Texas; his step-father, Ray Kempf of Belleville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the funeral home, with Reverend Randy Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
