Rosalia Mary Runge, nee Jost, 87 of Belleville, Ill., born April 16, 1918, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away on Nov. 11, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Runge was a retired school teacher for East St. Louis School District 189 for 34 years, a member of Signal Hill Lutheran Church, graduate from East St. Louis Sr. High, graduate of Mac Murray College, graduate of U. of I., elementary teacher District 189

Education Society, Retired Teachers of St. Clair Co., Lamp of Learning Award from
Junior Wednesday Club (1964), organist at Trinity and Unity Lutheran Churches (42 years), choir member at Trinity, Unity and Signal Hill Lutheran Churches, member of Ladies Aid Society at Signal Hill Lutheran and M.M.E.G., president of Ladies Aid at Unity Lutheran Church, Secretary and Treasurer for A.A.L. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Runge whom she married on June 30 1972; her parents, Fred J. and Orrilla F., nee Wiedemann, Jost; a brother, Frederick Jost; a sister-in-Law, Carol Jost; and a nephew, Bruce Jost.
Surviving are her nephews, Philip (Christa) Jost of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; nieces, Angela Jost, and RoseAnn Jost Hutchison of Belleville, Ill.; great nieces, Rachel (Mark) Brown of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Melissa (Edward III) Burkley of Chapel Hill, N.C., Heather Hutchison of Belleville, Ill.; great-great-niece and nephew, Hannah and Ethan Brown; step-children, Carlene (John) Lukens of Belleville, Mich., James A. (Pat) Runge Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and John M. (Debbie) Runge of Fairview Heights, Ill., three step-grandchildren James A Runge Jr., Marsha Martindale and Phillip Martindale, six step-great-grandchildren, James Jay Runge Alexandria, Jennifer Marc, Andronia and Devin Martindale.

Signal Hill Lutheran Church with Pastor Darwin Schrader and the Rev. Doug Nicely officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
