Rose M. Luebbert, 76, of Hartford, Ill., born March 13, 1940 in Alton, passed away at 2:16 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
Rose served the Village of Hartford as the first woman elected as a trustee on the board from April 21, 1981 until March 31, 1994. She then served as the Village Clerk until May 2000. She was a member of the Hartford Women's Club for many years, Civic League, Hartford Chamber of Commerce and the Citizens for Lewis and Clark Development at site #1. She enjoyed politics and would be hugging a politician and shaking hands with another at the same time. She gave many hours of dedication to a better Hartford throughout her life and was well respected for her dedication. She enjoyed her days of traveling with her husband, sewing, her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dudley T. Luebbert, whom she married on April 4, 1959 in Hartford, Ill. and who passed away on Jan. 1, 2005 after 45 years of cherished memories of their life together; parents, David and Isadora Lilley; brother, David Lilley; and three sisters, Addie, Bea and Shirley.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dennis Nappier of Florida; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Paula Luebbert of Bethalto, William and Tina Luebbert of Piasa and Theodore and Kristie Luebbert of Hartford; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Kevin, Ryan, Seth, Matthew and Melina; several great grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home with Reverend Steve Barrett officiating. Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana, Ill.
