Rose Marie Merchoff, 85, of Granite City, Ill., born June 3, 1931, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Granite Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City, Ill.
Rose was a proud homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a member of the Croatian Club in Madison, Ill. Rose enjoyed bowling, playing cards, especially playing poker with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Rose will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jim Merchoff, whom she married in 1947, in Granite City, and who passed away on Feb. 8, 2011; her parents, Peter and Rose, nee Wondra, Maykopet; a son, Dan Merchoff; brother, Jim Maykopet; and a sister, Dorothy Boelling.
Rose is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Shelly) Merchoff of Easley, S.C., David (Gretchen) Merchoff of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Dorothy Rampa of Toluca, Ill.; dear sisters, Marjorie Bushong and Joanne Maykopet; proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Visitation: A memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: In celebration of her life, memorial services will be held at 11:45 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
