Rosemary A. Buss, nee Anfang, 66, of Swansea, Ill., born Jan. 30, 1938, in Granite City, Ill., died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Buss had a passion for teaching and horses. She was a school teacher of Our Lady Queen of Peace School since 1975. Prior to 1975, she taught at St. Augustine of Canterbury, St. Teresa's and St. Mary's. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. She was also an experienced equestrian who had won numerous awards with horses and at school. She was an avid reader and a wonderful grandmother.
Mrs. Buss was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret, nee Forcade, Anfang; and a sister, Nelda "Joann" Schuckman.
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Paul) Richards of Smithton, Ill., and Dr. Pamela Buss of Huntington, Ind.; a sister, Shirley Fitzgerald of Scottsboro, Ala.; two grandchildren, Sydney and Olivia Richards; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Indy, Daisey, J.J. and Wendy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Animal Rescue.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Father Jack McEvilly officiating. Cremation will follow.
