Ruby Ellen Tipton, 95, of Fairview Heights, formerly of McComb, Miss., born Nov. 28, 1920, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at her residence.
Ruby was a United States Navy Reserve Wave serving from 1944 to 1946. She was a retired certified professional secretary from the Great American Wirebound Box Company in Fernwood Miss., and former member and Chapter President of the Certified Professional Secretary Association; a former member of the Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William "Web" and Ethel, nee Davis, Tipton; and her brother and sister-in- law, Raymond and Wilma Tipton.
Surviving are her brothers, Chick (Fran) Tipton of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Bob (Ernestine) Tipton of Clinton, Miss. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.
Donations are preferred to First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Dr. Jim Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
