Sharon K. Haberer, 73, of Pocahontas, Ill., born June 20, 1943, in Highland, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at St Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Sharon was an avid traveler, making it to 49 states, Europe, Paris, Italy and Germany in particular.
She loved her family, spending time with her friends and especially her grandchildren.
She liked the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed going out to eat and going to the beach. She was the caretaker and the person that remembered everything. Sharon had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Olivia, nee Young, Bimes; sister-in-law, Norma Haberer; father-in-law, Edwin Haberer; and mother-in-law, Geneva, nee Kuhn, Haberer.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Duane Haberer of Pocahontas, Ill., whom she married May 5, 1962, in Highland, Ill.; daughters, Evie Haberer of Sacramento, Calif., Tambour Eller of Sacramento, Calif., and Melissa Haberer of Highland, Ill.; grandchildren, Gavin Potthast and Madelyn Potthast, both of Highland, Ill.; brother, David Bimes of Highland, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Wes Haberer of Highland, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Sharon (George) Hartnagel of Pocahontas, Ill.; special nieces and nephews, Keith (Christy) Haberer, Connie (Frank) Michaelis, Ron (Tina) Hartnagel, Brad (Amy) Hartnagel, Lisa (Jeff) Pourchot, and Vicky Bimes; and friends, Gary and Joyce Smith.
Memorials may be made to Hug Cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held from 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, Ill., with Pastor Chris Hill of Evangelical United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Hug Cemetery, Pocahontas, Ill.
