Shirley Mae Leckrone, 88, of Granite City, Ill., born Sept. 22, 1927 in Granite City, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton, Ill.
Along with her husband, Shirley dedicated her life to serving others and the Lord. Shirley and her husband started serving churches in Thompson, Ill., while her husband attended seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. She and her husband served several churches in Illinois including United Methodist Churches in Glen Carbon, Ill., St. Jacob, Ill., Pocahontas, Ill., Caseyville, Ill., Godfrey, Ill., Marion, Ill., and in O'Fallon, Ill., retiring in 1991 and returning to Granite City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Eugene Leckrone; and her parents, Raymond and May M., nee Hartung, Luckert.
Shirley is survived by and will be missed by her sons, John Leckrone of Alton, Ill., Paul Leckrone of Cottage Hills, Ill., and Mark and (Linda) Leckrone of Staunton, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua and (Michelle) Leckrone, Jarrod and (Racheal) Leckrone, and Marla VanSickle; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jack and (Dorothy) Luckert, Don and (Doris) Luckert.

Visitation: In celebration of Shirley's life, friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Nameoki United Methodist Church, 1900 Pontoon Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the church with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, Ill.
