Terry Butler

Terry A. Butler, 56, born on Jan. 13, 1960 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, ending his courageous fight against cancer.

Terry met his "Sweetie" Criselda Legaspi of Phillippines in the summer of 2009. They married on Nov. 20, 2009. Terry proved to be a loving husband to Cris and a loving father to son Keyser Legaspi.

Terry worked at Argosy Gaming as a Pit Boss Supervisor for more than 25 years; an employee from the Alton Belle's initial opening. He was "Mr. B" to all who worked with him. The affection and respect they shared provided him a loving extended family which brought him much joy and support.

Terry's interests included following seasonal sports, gardening, float trips, day trips and the overall enjoyment of the outdoors. He was a "picker" attending auctions and enjoyed resale shops and yard sales. He inherited his value of bargains.

In addition to his parents, Edward L. and Adele F., nee Kehoe, Butler, he is preceded in death by his cousin, Brian Parker; grandmother, Florence M. Kehoe; aunts, Irene M. Kehoe and Anna Marie (Kehoe) Parker.

Terry is survived by his wife, Criselda Butler and son, Keyser Legaspi of Bethalto; sisters, Lindsey F. Butler of Alton, Christy L. Butler of Alton; brother, Timothy E. (Sharon) Butler of Jerseyville; nephews, Jason E. Butler of Maumee, Ohio, Adam R. Butler of Jerseyville; niece, Melissa (Chris) Raines and their sons, Carter and Caiden of Springfield, Ill., cousins, Joy Starling of Mobile, Ala., Wayne T. (Shellby) Parker of Imperial, Mo., Gary L. (Sharon) Parker of St. Genevieve, MO and Teresa Parker of House Springs, Mo.

Terry touched the lives of everyone he met and will be greatly missed by his family, many dear friends and all who knew him.
