Thelma Jane Cuvar, 77, of Granite City, Ill., passed away at 1:03 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill.
She was born Jan. 10, 1939 in Granite City, Ill., a daughter of the late Harvey and Pearl, nee Wehling, Heaton. She married John Cuvar on Jan. 18, 1957 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Granite City, Ill., and he survives.
She was a dedicated and faithful homemaker and was of the Lutheran faith. Along with her husband, they owned and operated the K.O.A. Campground in Granite City, Ill., for 35 years. She enjoyed her lunches at Ravanelli's and her trips to the casino. Thelma will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Sands; two brothers, Elmer and Lawrence Heaton; and two sisters, Dorothy White and Eileen Edwards.
Surviving, in addition to her beloved husband of 60 years, are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Schelly Cuvar of Granite City, Ill.; four grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda, Benjamin and Daniel; a great-grandson, Michael; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lorene Christ of Granite City, Ill., Janet and Dave DeGonia of Granite City, Ill., and Virginia and Larry Thomas of Troy, Ill.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Marilyn Heaton of Granite City, Ill., Jerry and Marlene Heaton of Michigan and Herbert and Judy Heaton of Bunker Hill, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Wilbur White of Granite City, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Visitation: In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be at held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 with Rev. Randy Vollmar officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
