Theodore Wagner Jr.

Theodore G. Wagner, Jr., 67, of Belleville, born March 13, 1949 in Chicago, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Lebanon after a short battle with cancer.

Shortly after graduation, Ted took a position with Missouri Pacific Rail Road (which later became Union Pacific Rail Road) and he would retire after 39 years, working in the customer service and billing department.

Mr. Wagner enjoyed fishing, hiking, taking long drives with Carol and playing with their different dogs over the years. He was a volunteer fireman for 15 years, a Little League coach and Cub Scout/Webelo leader, all in Mokena, Ill.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore G. and Frances, nee Schinler, Wagner, Sr.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Carol Wagner, nee Maslan, who was his highschool sweetheart and who he married September 27, 1968; son, Dennis; daughter-in-law, Susan; grandson, Justin; sister-in-law, Geri Maslan; brothers, Bob, John and Ron; sister, Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would especially like to thank VITAS Hospice of Fairview Heights for their excellent work and loving care (especially Shannon, Royal and Toni); the staff of Cedar Ridge Health Center for their attentive treatment and care (especially Sarah, Stephanie and Mia).

Services: Ted requested to be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
