Thomas E. Boushard, of Granite City, Ill., born Dec. 1, 1942, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 3:46 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Boushard retired from Cerro Copper in 2001, as a plater and polisher and had worked at Harvard Interiors for more than 24 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Word of Life Tabernacle Church and was a member of the Long Lake Fire Department for more than 24 years, and had served as a past chaplain there. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop and Explorer Post 255, and a leader of Cub Scout Troop 96 for many years. Thomas also enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. Boushard Jr.; and his parents, Clement E. and Hazel Marsella, nee Travis, Boushard.
Surviving are his wife, Lola M., nee Mayfield, Boushard of Granite City, whom he married on June 1, 1972, in Carrollton, Ill.; son, Joseph E. (Lisa) Boushard of Fenton, Mo.; daughters, Jennifer (Gary) Marsala of Granite City, Ill., Amy Boushard of Granite City, Ill., and Phyllis Elizabeth Wall of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Samantha Marsala and Hannah and Anthony Wall; brothers, John B. Boushard of Granite City, Ill., Glenn W. Boushard of Collinsville, Ill., and Joseph M. Boushard of Godfrey, Ill.; sisters, Phyllis Johnson of Harriman, Tenn., Earline Whelm of Iowa and Jean Jobe of Ohio.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Irwin Chapel, 3960, Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the chapel with the Rev. Henry Crippen officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
