Virginia E. Slattery, nee Tissier, 90, of Belleville, Ill., born Sunday, August 16, 1925, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Slattery was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Belleville, Ill., and a life time member of the Belleville Area Right to Life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter P. Slattery; parents, Louis F. and Clara M., nee Metzger, Tissier; brothers, Louis, Al, Frank, and Greg; sisters, Marg, Bee, Marie, Kay, and Clare; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Surviving are her son, Tim (Karen) Slattery of St. Charles, Mo.; daughters, Karen (Jim) Fesler of St. Louis, Mo., Susan (Tom) Kraska of St. Louis, Mo., and Nancy (Tom) Braun of Columbia, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Angela McCarthy, Josie (Eddie) Farday, Bridget (Tommy) Hannigan, and Marion Slattery; grandchildren, Tim Slattery, Stephen Slattery, Kevin Slattery, Ryan Fesler, Amanda (Nicholas Zarkadis) Fesler, Nicolette Kraska, Carly Kraska, Mark Braun, Blake Braun, Nick Roberts, Doug Roberts, Phil Baez, and Alex Baez; great-grandchildren, Elaine, Drake, Cadence, and Sophia; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and close friends, Shirley, Helen, Chris, Mary, Regina, Millie, and Ginny.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave from Kurrus Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 for a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Belleville, Ill., with Father Matthew Elie officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
