Walter Earl "Jack" Jones, 86, of Millstadt, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born Nov. 3, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, Ill.
Walter was a retired maintenance supervisor for Phillips Pipeline in Cahokia, Ill., and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church in Cahokia, Ill., where he was a retired deacon, trustee and third grade teacher.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Scott and Michael Jones; his parents, Everett and Gertrude, nee Latta, Jones; son-in-law, Billy Morgan Jean; two sisters, Patricia Moore and Dorothy Doronila; and parents-in-law, Russell and Gertrude, nee Merlenbach, Holcomb.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen I. Jones, nee Holcomb; his children, Debra Jones-Jean of O'Fallon, Ill., Steven (Annette Sak) Jones of Millstadt, Ill., Colleen Jones of Swansea, Ill., and Debra L. Jones of Belleville, Ill.; brother, Everett (Joan) Jones, Sr. of Kirkwood, Mo.; sister, G. Justine LaVan of Manchester, Mo.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones, Jessica (Dave) Ward, Alexis Whitten, and Anthony Whitten; great-grandson, David Brian Ward III; and special friend, Harvey Mirgaux, Sr. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Maplewood Park Baptist Church, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Maplewood Park Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
