Wayman Milam

Wayman C. Milam, 88, of Belleville, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Wednesday, March 23, 1928, in Collinsville, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at St. Sophia Health & Rehabilitation Center in Florissant, Mo.

Wayman worked as a casting crew leader and foreman for Spectrulite Consortium, Inc. for 36 years. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Belleville Ill., 50 year member and past master of St. Clair Lodge No. 24 A.F.&A.M., member of Scottish Rite Bodies Ainad Shrine, and VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville, Ill. Wayman was a volunteer at East Side Fire Department, a republican precinct committeeman for many years and a St. Clair Township Trustee for 40 plus years. Wayman was a United States Army World War II and Korean War veteran and a member of ImJim Chapter Korean War veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary, nee Becker, Milam; his first wife, Verna E., nee Richter, Milam; parents, Albert "Bert" and Rosa V., nee Cuff, Milam; a daughter, Sandra Hoff; an infant sister, Shirley Milam; and sister, Delores Segal.

Surviving are his children, Michael W. (Nancy) Milam of Mount Zion, Ill., Dennis R. (Barbara) Milam of Swansea, Ill., Sharon K. (John) Hassenstab of Florissant, Mo.; a brother, Roy T. Milam of Collinsville, Ill.; sisters, Pamela A. (Erv) Cox of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Audrey (Ted) Sanders of Collinsville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Pastor Cory Hartz officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
