William E. Tate, 83, of Swansea, Ill., born Aug 18, 1932, in Mcleansboro, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Tate was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was retired from the Alton & Southern Railroad and a member of Sterling Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Nova, nee Irby, Tate; a son, Larry Tate; a daughter, Linda Reynolds; and a brother, Earl Tate.
Surviving is his wife of over 60 years, Betty Tate, nee Rigsby; a daughter, Barbara (Tom) Hohn of Swansea, Ill.; three grandchildren, Melisa Wheeler, Tony (Samantha) King, and Lindsey King-Shields; six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Chase, Corbin, Ethan, and Jackson; and other relatives and friends.
