William Walter Gain, 74, of Belleville, Ill., born July 29, 1941, in Belleville, Ill., passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at his home.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and a carpenter. William had been a member of the Carpenters Union Local since he was 17 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward R. and Marie W., nee Wolter, Gain; and a, sister, Crystal Herbstreith.
Surviving are his longtime friend, Jan Morris; his children, Martin Gain of Belleville, Ill., William "Bill" Gain of China, Shelly (Bob) Morris- Hess of Chesterfield, Mo., and Scott (Maxane) Morris of Dixon, Mo.; sisters, Marie Martinez of California, and Ernestine; brothers, Edward (Betty) Gain of Smithton, Ill., John (Jeannie) Gain and Luther (Bonnie) Gain, both of Jacksonville, Ill.; five grandchildren; his faithful dog, Abby; and by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Services: A memorial luncheon will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at the Quaill Club, Concordia Church Road, Millstadt, Ill.
