Lee Roy Dunham

Lee Roy Dunham, 82, of Granite City, Ill., born Sept. 7, 1931, in Pocahontas, Ark., passed away at 3:53 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Dunham retired in January 1994 from Granite City Steel after 39 years of dedicated service as an operator on the pickle line. He was a member of Tri-City Assembly of God Church in Granite City, Ill., and was a car enthusiast and enjoyed his days of woodworking, building or working in his yard. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ellen, nee Varner, Dunham; his first wife, Lucille F., nee Day, Dunham; a daughter, Rhana Derr; two brothers, Frank and Robert Dunham; and a sister, Beulah Dollings.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Lynette, nee Cook, Dunham, whom he married on Oct. 11, 1996, in Alton, Ill.; six children and their spouses, Glenda Dunham of Paragould, Ark., Pattie and Larry Burgan of Granite City, Ill., Kenneth Dunham of Granite City, Ill., Sandra and Eric Crafton-Cruse of Granite City, Ill., Katrina and Kenny Coleman of Granite City, Ill., and Gayla and Don Bradford of Granite City, Ill.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Lee Curtis of Columbia, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Helen Dunham of Granite City, Ill.; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and may be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call in celebration of his life from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.

Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Tri-City Assembly of God Church, 3400 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the church with the Rev. Barry Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
