James Couch

James Larry Couch, 74, of Cahokia, Ill., born July 31, 1939, in Hyden, Ky., passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Easton, Kan.

James was retired from CSX Railroad Southwestern Illinois. He was a member of Emeth Lodge 1030 AF & AM in Cahokia, Ill., the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois and was a U.S. Army Specialist veteran.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jillian Couch; his parents, William and Virginia Couch; brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his two children Chris (Debbie) Couch, Jama (Mike) Cloak and Julie (Pat) Gould, all of Leavenworth, Kan., William Couch of St. Louis, Mo., and Amy Matthews of Festus, Mo.; two brothers, Bige Couch of Aurora, Ind., and George Couch of Silver Lakes, Calif.; and two sisters, Rose Paascha of San Antonio, Texas and Sue (Jimmy) Dean of Lexington, Ky. He was a dear grandpa, great-grandpa, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.


Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Service will begin after the 7 p.m. Masonic Service on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. John D. Dawson officiating.

Interment at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
