Lorna Reinacher

Lorna V. Reinacher, 84, of Highland, Ill., born March 18, 1929, in Highland, Ill., passed away at 7:07 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, Ill.

Mrs. Reinacher was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. She was also a member of Search Committee for the Church, Highland Women's Club (past president), and UFO (United For Others).

Lorna was born Southeast of Highland, Ill., and reared there on the family farm. She worked at many local places, Wicks Organ Co., Basler Electric, Zobrist Bus Line, and driving Highland high school students to Collinsville Vocational School. She helped her husband for many years with the family farm. She moved into Highland January of 2001. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, quilting, playing cards with family and friends, and making pies for the fire department, Grantfork Homecomings and the church sausage suppers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer C. Reinacher, whom she married on Aug. 16, 1947, and who died Feb. 27, 2001; parents, Edward C. and Elvira, nee Dresch, Zobrist; son-in-law, Allan J. Rutz; sisters, Marian E. Riegel and Lynette "Chubby" Becker; and brother, Maynard E. "Bud" Zobrist.

Surviving are her daughters, Sandra M. Abert of New Douglas, Ill., Lynn A. (special friend-Ryan Dale) Rutz of Highland, Ill., Lora L. "Lori" (Earl) Stocker of Highland, Ill., and Sandra M. "Sandy" (Mark) Abert of New Douglas, Ill.; grandchildren, Kari L. (Don) Rutz-Jakel of Highland, Ill., Torre J. (Twyla) Rutz of Highland, Ill., Abbey L. (Matt) Inlow of Highland, Ill., Eric E. (Tiffany) Abert of Alhambra, Ill., and Kyle A. (special friend-Olivia Buehne) Abert of New Douglas, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Lily Jakel, Brooke Inlow, Reagan Rutz, Morgan Inlow and Harper Rutz all of Highland, Ill.; brothers, Neal L. "Butch" (Pat) Zobrist and Ron C. Zobrist; sisters, Shirley Sackett and Bernice M. (Larry) Fricke; and sister-in-law, Dolores G. Zobrist all of Highland, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, Ill.



Funeral: Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, Ill., with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul officiating. Interment will be at Grantfork U.C.C. Cemetery in Grantfork, Ill.
