Eddie Finazzo

Eddie Joseph Finazzo, 63,of Granite City, Ill., passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.

Eddie was born Sept. 17, 1950, in Granite City, Ill. He was a long time supervisor for Juneau Associates in Granite City, Ill., retired from Laborers Local 397, and served on the Long Lake Fire Department

from September 1977 to June 1986. In his free time Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing Bocce Ball. He had a special love for his family and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unique personality and all the fond memories shared with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; Frank Paul Joseph Finazzo; his 1st wife, Cheryl, nee Rozum, Finazzo; and his twin brother, Fred Finazzo.

Surviving are his wife, Debra, nee Baker, Finazzo, whom he married on Jan. 17, 2000; his mom, Viola, nee Miller, Finazzo, Colclasure and (Charlie) of Flora, Ill.; daughters, Kim and (Larry) Simburger of Granite City, Jennifer and (Mark) Giesler of Cape Coral, FL, Buffy and (Greg) Fralick of Uriah, AL; son, Eddie T. Finazzo of Granite City; bonus children, Megan and (Chris) Barbour of Collinsville, Jenna Miller and fiance' (Jake) of Granite City; step mother, Peggy and (Jim) Gieselman; grandchildren, Casey Giesler, Ryan Giesler, Nathen Giesler, Kenna Simburger, Karlin Simburger, Kaden Simburger, Joseph Mickelson, Parker Reiss, Cooper Dean, Paxton Reiss, Anna Maria Dean; brothers, Frank Finazzo, Willie Finazzo and fiance' (Ailie); sisters, Linda Finazzo, Annette Finazzo and fiance' (Chris) Jones, Judy and (Sam) Greco; sister-in-law, Cindy Finazzo; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and close friends.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of his son Edward Finazzo, and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, Ill.
