Ryan Wagner

Ryan W. Wagner, 22, of Okawville, Ill., departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 6:20 p.m., due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Mascoutah, Ill.

Ryan was born in Belleville, Ill., on April 8, 1991, the son of Shane and Kim, nee Neal, Wagner. He was united in marriage to Michelle Whitaker in January of this year and they were expecting their first child in September.

Ryan was a 2009 graduate of Okawville High School, Okawville, Ill. He worked as a personal trainer at Gold's Gym in O'Fallon, Ill., and he enjoyed working out and lifting weights. He loved playing baseball, fishing and playing video games. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dale Wagner; paternal grandmother, Pauline Simmons, and her husband Ralph.

Surviving are his wife, Michelle, nee Whitaker, Wagner; his parents, Shane and Kim Wagner of Okawville, Ill.; a brother, Kenneth Wagner of Okawville, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Larry and Eva Neal of Red Bud, Ill.; two aunts, Cheryl (Rick) Bremer of Swansea, Ill., and Cassy (Jim) Reece of Paderborn, Ill.; two uncles, Tommy (Kay) Neal of Marissa, Ill., and Chad (Connie) Wagner of Grand Junction, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Lexa; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, and from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Okawville, Ill.

Funeral: In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation will be performed. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Okawville, Ill., with Pastor Eric Wood officiating. Interment of ashes will be in the church cemetery.
