Ruth F. Shane, 90, of Granite City, Ill., born June 18, 1923, in Granite City, Ill., passed away at 8:45 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Shane was a member of Calvary Life Church and enjoyed her days of shopping and walking. Her family was the center of her life and she loved her days of cooking her big family meals for all to gather around. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Augusta O. Shane, whom she married in 1938, in St. Louis, Mo., and who died Nov. 3, 1987; her parents, Nathan and Anna, nee Pinkerton, Jones; and eight brothers and sisters, Jim Jones, Mae Goodnight, Gertie Haisler, Oscar Jones, Stanley Jones, Cletus Jones, Paul Jones and Glen Jones.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Jean Shane of Pontoon Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. and John Sannes of Granite City; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Randy Wilson, Tami and Rick Foschiatti, Kim and Dan Parks, Rhonda and Don Courtney and Jerry and Lisa Shane Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, Monik Foschiatti, Krystle Hamblen, Drew Courtney, Jake Courtney, Christopher Parks, Lauren Wilson, Ian Wilson, Cierra Shane and Austin Shane; a great-great-grandchild, Bella Parks; niece, Venida McCart of Maryville; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill
