Oasis Ferguson

Oasis L. Ferguson, 95, of Belleville, Ill., born Saturday, Sept. 28, 1918, in Hermitage, Ark., died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his residence.

Oasis worked as a laborer for Bianco Funiture and attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Jane, nee Johnson Ferguson; his parents, Robert Lee and Carrie Karl, nee Givens Ferguson; two sisters, Robbie Hammett and Ada Pearl Reary; and two brothers, Vance Ferguson and Joe Lee Ferguson.

Surviving are his daughter, Carman (Andre') Morice of Saint Louis, Mo.; a son, Scott Ferguson of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Laverne Weatherly of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three grandchildren, Brianne (Josh) Mitchell, Jennifer (Travis) Atwood, and Kimberly Morice; great-grandchildren, Hailey Mitchell, Chase Atwood and Tristan Atwood; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel, Belleville, Ill., with Rev. James Slone officiating. Private family interment will be held.
