Gay A. Rench, nee Marcoot, 60, born July 19, 1953, in Highland, Ill., died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Relais Bonne Eau, Edwardsville, Ill.
Gay was born in Highland, Ill., grew up on the family farm at Pleasant Mount, Ill., and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School in 1971. She received her BS and MS Ed from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Ill. She started teaching at Mulberry Grove in the fall of 1975, and taught for 33 years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed time with friends, family, at church, shopping, exercising and traveling to Florida. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, Ill., the church mission board, and Retired Teachers of Bond County, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd H. and Norma G., nee Neumann, Marcoot.
Surviving are her husband, Bradley S. Rench of Highland, Ill.; a son, Matt S. Rench of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Mary L. (Tony) Ringering of Red Bud, Ill.; and two sisters-in-law, Liz (Mark) Bush of St. Peters., Mo., and Julie (Karl) Krauskopf of Frisco, Texas.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill., and from 9 until 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the church with Rev. Christopher W. Hill officiating. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery, Highland, Ill.
