Lenore L. Frey

Lenore L. Frey, nee Hug of Statesville, N.C., formerly of Highland, Ill., died Thursday, Febrary 27, 2014.

Mrs. Frey grew up on the Matter farm in northwest Highland, Ill., and graduated from Highland High School in 1940. She raised her unique family, and was a fun-loving lady; a member of the Out House Trio, she took many trips to New Glarus to play for over 35 years. She wintered in Florida, enjoyed cooking and travel, and had visited every State, along with South America, Europe and Asia. Gathering with friends brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Frey; her parents, Milton F. and Linda M., nee Hug, Frey; a grandson, Brian Huffman; and a great-grandson, Hank James Rembisz.

Surviving are a son, William "Willie" M. (Patty) Frey of Highland, Ill.; a son Jerard "J.R." R. (Vicky) Frey of Lake Worth, Fla.; a daughter, Linda J. (Louis) Huffman of Statesville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Gayle A. (Kristin) Frey of Highland, Ill., Tricia D. (Brad) Rembisz of Highland, Ill., Molly K. (Scott) Hemberger of Springfield, Ill., Matt D. (Lucy) Frey of Butte, Mont., and Anna L. (John) Winger of Statesville, N.C.; 10 great-grandchildren; Riley E. Frey of Highland, Ill., Crue W. Frey of Highland, Ill., Lyla M. Rembisz of Highland, Ill., Clark W. Rembisz of Highland, Ill., Phoebe J. Hemberger of Springfield, Ill., Briar D. Frey of Butte, Mont., Shasa K. Frey of Butte, Mont., Olivia Lyn "Liv" Winger of Statesville, N.C ., Robert Louis Winger of Statesville, N.C., and John Carlyle Winger of Statesville, N.C., and beloved pet dog, Lizzie.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Keystone Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, Ill.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the funeral home, with family friend, Frank Messersmith officiating. Interment will be in Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
