Glen Griffith

Glen N. Griffith, 90, of Belleville, Ill., born Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1924, in Pilot Grove, Mo., died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Glen worked as a freight manager for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge of Belleville, Railroad Retirees Association and loved to play golf. He was a United States World War II Navy veteran who served in the European, African, Middle Eastern, and Asiatic Pacific Theaters.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adeline "Honey", nee Haley, Griffith; second wife, Geri, nee Alvers, Griffith; parents, Roy and Tucker, nee Pollard, Griffith; and brothers, Edgar Griffith, H.C. Griffith and Robert Griffith.

Surviving are his children, Karen A. (Jim) Stack of Collinsville, Ill., Kaye E. (Richard) Wilson of Hinsdale, Ill., Diane M. (Randy) Cook of Belleville, Ill., Dennis R. (Karen) Hunt of Belleville, Ill., and Russell E. (Kelly) Hunt of St. Peters, Mo.; brother, William (Carol) Griffith of Owensville, Mo.; grandchildren, Paul (Gigi) DeLuca of Collinsville, Ill., Laura DeLuca (fiance Joe Pavlovec) of Troy, Ill., Rick (Michelle) Wilson of Collinsville, Ill., Rachel (Scott) Gibbons of LaGrange, Ill., Kacie (Rich) Alexander of Wentzville, Mo., Jason (Lauren) Hunt of Wentzville, Mo., Laura Ludwig of Belleville, Ill., Matthew Hunt of Belleville, Ill., Tom (Jen) Borsch of Belleville, Ill., and Ryan Borsch of Belleville, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Nigel DeLuca, Killian DeLuca, Aaron Stadts, Adam Stadts, Faren Wilson, Quenby Wilson, Oliver Gibbons, Opal Gibbons, Kenley Alexander, Katie Ludwig, Jacob Ludwig, Aiden Borsch and Liam Borsch; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville, Mo., with Dr. Nick Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville, Mo.
