Retired U.S.Air Force Major Steven Kish Jr., 69, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 26, 1944, in Baltimore, Md., died Friday, April 25, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Kish retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. He was a Vietnam War veteran and Assistant Director of Air Craft Maintenance at Scott Air Force Base. Steve was a caring father who coached Special Olympics swimming, was a Boy Scout leader, and a Little League football coach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Ladean, nee Summers, Kish.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Josephine, nee Potts, Kish; his two sons, Steven D. and Thomas M. Kish, both of Belleville, Ill.; and his brother, Thomas Kish of Topeka, Kan. He was a dear beloved uncle.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Monsignor John Myler officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
