Gloria Jean Burns, nee Renfro, 83, of Collinsville, Ill., born Oct. 29, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away peacefully Sunday, May 18, 2014.
Mrs. Burns was an avid bingo player and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Johnny Burns, Jr. and Tommy Cates, Jr.; her parents, Charles E. and Leona M., nee Henson, Renfro; a brother, Bob Renfro; two sisters, Pearl Kemper and Loretta Sanford.
Surviving are her three brothers, Glen Renfro of California, Norman Renfro of California and Jerry Renfro of Arizona; a sister, Pat Bergmire of O'Fallon, Ill.; four children, Barbara Brooks of Collinsville, Ill., Brenda Brown of Collinsville, Ill., Robert P. (Jolleene) Burns, Sr. of Collinsville, Ill., and Gary Cates of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren whom she raised as her own, Robert (Christy) Burns, Jr. of Swansea, Ill., and Traci (Anthony) Leck of Staunton, Ill.; as well as numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
