Mary Sue Barnett, 87, of Granite City, Ill., born July 31, 1926, in Aubrey, Texas, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, Ill., with her family by her side.
Mary was a bookkeeper for Granite City Trust & Savings Bank and a member of Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene in Pontoon Beach, Ill. Mary will be remembered for her kind and loving heart and the many special times she shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Durrell "Blackie" Barnett, whom she married on August 24, 1946; and her parents, Charles and Grace, nee Bogard, Burch.
Surviving are her daughters, Marcia (Terry) Barron of Granite City, and Leslie (Richard) Price of Granite City; grandchildren, Brett (Renee') Barron, Laurie (B.J.) Schneck, Andrea (Rev. Adam) Cruse, Aaron Stovall, and Megan Stovall; great-grandchildren, Matilynn Barron, Caeden Barron, Laraeli Barron, Will Schneck, Maelynn Schneck, Jackson Cruse, and Ellison Cruse; and her sister, Charlsie Vunovic.

Visitation: In celebration of Mary's life friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Adam Cruse officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
