Kathryn Louise Mayberry, nee Van Note, 64, of Lebanon, Ill., born Jan. 29, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Dr. Mayberry was a 1968 high school graduate of Kennedy High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and received her Veterinary Science degree from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, in 1975. She established her veterinarian practice in Lebanon, Ill. shortly after graduation. Kathy also worked for many years as a veterinarian at Fairmount Racetrack, Fairmount City, Ill. She will be remembered for her passion for animals. It was said of Kathy that she would not hesitate to come to the aid of an animal in need anytime of the day or night. She was a member of the Lebanon Park Board.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marie Van Note.
Surviving are a sister, Jeanette Bean of Snellville, Ga.; a brother, Keith (Amy) Van Note of Minneapolis, Minn.; two nephews, Jim Shaw and Kent Van Note; two nieces, Debra Shaw and Catherine Meredyk; and her former husband, Robert J. Mayberry Jr.
