Dana Leah Marlett, 58, of Granite City, Ill., born March 31, 1956, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City with her loving family by her side.
Dana was a faithful and devoted Christian who loved life, loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She had graduated from Sanford Brown College, Venice Tech and was a caring nurse's aid for many years. She enjoyed macrame, needlework, drawing, reading and writing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Marlette; and brother-in-law, Gary Scranton.
Surviving are her son, Michael Orender; dear mother, Elsie, nee Lowe, Marlette of Granite City, Ill.; six loving sisters, Sherri (Mark) Lakenburger of Highland, Ill., Debra Scranton of Washburn, Mo., Andrea Lackey, Michelle (Van) Coats, Nikki (Tim) Schmidt and Jamie (Shay) Bennett all of Granite City, Ill.; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Eli; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice for the special care they gave to Dana.

Funeral: In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, Ill. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
