Lawrence Yarber Jr.
Lawrence D. "Larry" Yarber Jr., 60, of Columbia, Ill., born Dec. 26, 1953, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Aspen, Colo.
Mr. Yarber was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Paderborn and the choir. He was a compassionate worker in the health care profession, a U.S. Army veteran (captain), Boy Scouts of America and youth baseball coach. Larry enjoyed softball, billiards, martial arts, loved to cook, and was an avid logophile.
Friends and family will miss Tuesday night card games, the twinkle in his eye, his love of fireworks, and his enthusiastic story telling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence D. Yarber Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis, nee Hammell, Yarber; children, David (Shannon) Yarber, Laura Yarber, Katie Yarber and Michael Yarber; granddaughter, Stacey Yarber; his mother, Nancy Ann, nee Raeber, Yarber; sisters and brothers, Matt (Kathy) Yarber, Mike (Ann) Yarber, Teresa Blomenkamp, Kathy (Ron) Lynn, Chris (Ron) Hausmann, Bobbie (Marty) Baldwin, Mary Zaiter, John Yarber and Greg Yarber; and aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, and 8 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Paderborn, Ill., with Father James A. Voelker officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Paderborn, Ill.
