Steven Scarborough, 65, of Granite City, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1949, in Granite City, Ill., passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at his home.
Steven had retired after many years of dedicated service from Holten Meat Inc. in Sauget, Ill., as a machine operator. He loved working and playing music. He was excellent at playing the drums and was a drummer with Barry Ebling and the Invaders. Steve loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harold Scarborough and Laura Jane, nee Martin, Spence.
Surviving are his loving wife, Vicky, nee Smith, Scarborough, whom he married on Dec. 18, 1998, in Edwardsville, Ill.; sons, Steve (Amy) Scarborough of St. Charles, Mo., and Asa Scarborough of Granite City, Ill.; brothers and sisters, David (Judy) Scarborough of Acworth, Ga., Vickie (Jerry) Decker of Panama City, Fla., Stacey (William) Jordan of St. Louis, Mo., and James Scarborough of Granite City, Ill.; loving grandfather to Lindsay, Tressa, Karlie, Mason and Avery Scarborough; his mother-in-law, Patsy Smith of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral: In celebration of Steve's life, a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, Ill., with Rev. Charles West officiating.
