Dorothy Kinney

Dorothy Dolores Kinney, nee Harvey, 87, of Belleville, Ill., born Aug. 8, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Kinney was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Patrick W. Kinney Sr., whom she married on Sept. 29, 1952, and who died May 25, 2007; her parents, William and Anne, nee Kishbaugh, Harvey; a sister, Mary Heycock; a brother, William Harvey; and a son-in-law, Michael Skrabacz.

Surviving are six daughters and a son, Mary (Kevin) Ditter of Cedar Hill, Mo., Kathy (Dan) Upton, Eileen (John) Kach, Patrick Jr. (Diana) Kinney, and Maureen Skrabacz (fiance, Dale Florence), all of Belleville, Ill., Michelle (James) Jefferson of Troy, Ill., and Colleen (Harold) Kleinschmidt of Millstadt, Ill.;

21 grandchildren, Angela (Dave) Anderson, Kate (Jim) Shiverdeck, Christine (Dave) Clark, Amanda Saia, Amanda (Brad) Gordon, Megan (Jonathan) Gilbreth, Kelly Ditter, Allison (Jon) Bagby, Melinda (Larry) Wilson, Becky (Mark) Niemietz, Erin (William) Kuehn, Lauren Ditter, Justin (Allie) Kinney, Sarah Skrabacz, Monica (Mike) Carlson, Adam (Stephanie) Kleinschmidt, Amber Kach, John Skrabacz, Zach Jefferson, and Ian and Brendan Kinney; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
