Brenda Rensing

Brenda M. Rensing, nee Bettis, 60, of Smithton, Ill., born Dec. 9, 1953, in Red Bud, Ill., died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Rensing had worked in banking for 30 years, most recently at Regions Bank in Smithton, Ill. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn M. Bettis; a sister, Stacey Bettis, in infancy; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sylvester and Mary Louise, nee Bardsley, Rensing.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Mark Rensing, whom she married on September 8, 1978; two sons, Kyle (Amanda) Rensing and Kory Rensing, both of Smithton, Ill.; a grandson, Kyan Rensing; her mother, Dolores, nee Haudrich, Bettis of Smithton, Ill.; three brothers, Lorraine (Sandy) Bettis of Festus, Mo., and Dale (Deborah) Bettis, and Kevin (Barb) Bettis, both of Smithton, Ill.; three sisters, Sandra (Fred) Voegele, Sheila (Richard) Villiger, and Donna (Rick) Helton, all of Smithton, Ill.; three brothers-in-law, Larry (Linda) Rensing of Smithton, Ill., Ronald (Lynn) Rensing of Millstadt, Ill., and Tim (Chris) Deien of Red Bud, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

Brenda's family would like to thank the staff at the Siteman Cancer Center for their care and family and friends for their prayers and support.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, Ill., with Father Stanley Konieczny officiating. Burial will follow at Smithton City Cemetery.
