Margie Morris

Margie Louise Morris, nee Vogt, 81, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Friday, Aug. 5, 1932, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Margie worked as a secretary for Daniel and Henry and Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., St. Ann's Sodality, and graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in 1949. This past Sunday she celebrated her 65 year class reunion with classmates at Our Lady of the Snows Shrine. Margie and her husband, Edgar were married on Nov. 6, 1953, at St. Albert the Great Old Barn. They celebrated their 60 year wedding anniversary last November at Holy Trinity with Mass and a family lunch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Blanche, nee Thompson, Vogt; son, John "Tony" A. Morris; brothers, Rev. John J. Vogt and James T. Vogt; sister, Eileen Lohmann; and nephew, James M. Vogt.

Surviving are her husband, Edgar A. Morris of Fairview Heights, Ill.; children, Lynne L. (Gary) Angle of French Village, Mo., Beth (Alvin, III) Fields of Belleville, Ill., and Timothy A. (Kim) Morris of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Elizabeth J. Vogt of Belleville, Ill., and Carolyn A. Vogt of Belleville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Carolyn K. Vogt, Helen Morris and Edith Ingram; brother-in-law, Leland C. Lohmann; grandchildren, Jodi (Burt) Reynolds, Jason Angle, Katherine Ilene Morris, Emilee Fields, Alvin Fields, IV, Jessica Fields and Christopher "CJ" Morris; great-grandchildren, Jacob Reynolds, Connor Reynolds, Jason Angle Jr., and Nathan Angle; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave from Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill., at 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2014 for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill., with Father Raymond Schultz officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
