Joseph "Wayne" Duckworth

Joseph "Wayne" Duckworth, 89, of Caseyville, Ill., born Wednesday, June 3, 1925, in St. Louis, Mo., died Friday, June 27, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Wayne worked as a welder and business agent for Union Electric Local 148 and was a United States World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Gothic Lodge 854 AF & AM, Ainad Shrine and played trombone and guitar for the Nobleman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Jessie M., nee Johns, Duckworth; and her son, Eugene W. Duckworth.

Surviving are his family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill. There will be a 7 p.m. Masonic service Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
