Charlene Hubert

Charlene M. Hubert, nee Hermann, 91, of Belleville, Ill., born March 17, 1923, in Belleville, Ill., died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Dammert Geriatric Center, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Hubert was an avid bridge player. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., and belonged to the Young at Heart club at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Loyal W. Hubert, whom she married on Oct. 8, 1943, and who died Feb. 25, 1999; her daughter, Barbara Hubert; her parents, Fred and Freda, nee Sturm, Hermann; and a brother, Fred Hermann.

Surviving are her son, Donald (Chris) Hubert of Belleville, Ill.; two daughters, Kathleen (Russ) Hoeffken of Millstadt, Ill., and Marjorie (Edward) Pope of Shiloh, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Davis, Kathryn (Adam) Wibbenmeyer, Daniel (Erin) Hubert, Gregory (Jean) Hoeffken, Karen (Dennis) Jenkins, Amanda (Jacob) Dillard, and Allyson Pope; eight great-grandchildren, Paul, Jenna and Nicholas Hoeffken, Miranda, Kaitlyn and Ellaina Jenkins, and Kaden and Taylor Davis.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Apartment Community Chapel at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Apartment Community Chapel, with Father Joseph Ferraioli, OMI officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
