Marjorie E. Day, nee Scott, 92, of Collinsville, Ill., born Friday, June 9, 1922, in Warrensburg, Ill., died Sunday, August 10, 2014.
Marjorie was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as an Army Nurse in Okinawa. She then continued her nursing career at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, Ill., retiring after 39 years. Marjorie was a member of the American Legion Post 365 in Collinsville, Ill., and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi; and a member of First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Kenneth" Day; a son, Gary K. Day; her parents, William O. and Annie Lori, nee Austin, Scott; three sisters, Helen L. Hammon, Ethel M. Schuyler, and Florence M. White; and a brother, Ray M. Scott.
Surviving are son, Ronald A. (Tammy) Day of Murfeesboro, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Melissa Day, Ryan Nickason and Jessica Day; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Austin, and Jessica Day, Carrington, and Caitelyn Nickason, and Julia Garrison.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Greg Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
