It was always a great pleasure to work with Connie. She was so caring, energetic and engaged with my students (Vietnamese engineering faculty) -- she had such an energy for sharing her knowledge and understanding of her discipline. She had the heart of an educator -- and it was so much fun to plan activities with her. I deeply appreciate the light she cast in this world.

We were very privileged to have you decide to fly back for Kathy's 50th! I am so glad we got to have that short but totally awesome day together because it was really a treat for all of us to catch up with you in person. Circumstances don't seem real today, but I know we we will be catching up later once more. Until then, hugs and kisses oxoxoxo from Edwardsville.

Connie, you were the perfect light. You came at the perfect time. And now the darkness is most perfectly felt. I'll love you forever.

Connie was a dear friend and an admired and highly respected colleague. We enjoyed having her spend time with us at M D Anderson Cancer Center for a sabbatical in 2012-13. I will miss being able to call her, collaborate on statistical work, and visiting with her at conferences. My thoughts and prayers are with you, her family. She was very special and we will all miss her.
