Dorothy Mae Hamilton, nee Hill, 85, of Belleville, Ill., born May 2, 1924, in Anna, Ill., died on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Dorothy was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and gardening. Dorothy also took pleasure in watching the Game show Network and putting together puzzles. She loved spending time with her faithful dog, Abby. Above all, Dorothy was completely devoted to her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Hamilton, whom she married Jan. 16, 1942, and who died Dec. 22, 1968; her son, Robert Louis Hamilton Jr.; her grandson, Adam Valentine; a great-grandson, Marlon Christian; her parents, Harry and Marie, nee Phillips, Hill; and four brothers, Robert Hill, James Hill, Kenneth Hill and Richard Hill.

She was a dear aunt and friend.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the mortuary.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
