Dr. William Cruez Jr.
Dr. William H. Cruez Jr., 85, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Dec. 15, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
William served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Chiropractic Physician for 50 years and was certified in acupuncture and nutrition. William was a member of the Illinois Chiropractic Association. He was the past president of the Kiwanis Club in East St. Louis, Ill., and was on the Fairview Heights Homecoming Board for numerous years. William enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his two children who died in infancy, Claudia and Steven Cruez; and his parents, William H. and Ethel A., nee McCann, Cruez Sr.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Lydia Cruez; his children, Mary (Claude) Downing of Bethalto, Ill., Avery (Raymond) Keltner of St. Louis, Mo., Lorraine Cruez of Orlando, Fla., Leslie (Loren) Boyd of Troy, Ill., and William H. Cruez III of Lebanon, Ill.; his grandchildren, Scott Ahart, Mercedes Shartzer, Tyler Boyd, Dakota Shartzer, Hunter Boyd, Alex Cruez and Isabel Boyd; a great-granddaughter, Anniston Ahart; and a special friend, Ginta Fuller and children.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Private funeral services will be held on Friday.
