Kyle Roberts Obituary
Kyle J. Roberts, 28, of Sorento, Ill., born Aug. 28, 1984, in Maryville, Ill., died at 3:21 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Kyle grew up in Alhambra/New Douglas/Stolletown areas. He was a graduate of Greenville High School in 2002. He had lived at Old Ripley since 1994. After graduation he started working at Amsted Rail in Granite City, Ill. He enjoyed racing, driving cars number 74 and number 47 at Highland, Brownstown and Belleville Speedways. He loved the St. Louis Blues and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed fishing. He just started playing the game of golf. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, Highland Camp 105 and United Steel Workers Local 1063.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Wernle; paternal grandmother, Neoma Alanis, nee Steinhaus; paternal grandfather, Edward E. Roberts; maternal step-grandfather, John E. Vosholler; step-niece, Raelynn Newsome; and an uncle, Scott Wernle
Surviving are his mother, Laurie A., nee Wernle, (Keith) Vosholler of Sorento, Ill.; father, Tracy J. (Judy) Roberts of Tappahannock, Va.; maternal grandmother, Maxine M. Wernle, nee Henschen of New Douglas, Ill.; maternal step-grandmother, Arline M. Vosholler, nee Buske, of Greenville, Ill.; stepbrothers, Todd (Amy Jo) Newsome of Youngsville, N.C., and Brett (Jennifer) Newsome of Walnut Creek, Calif.; step-nephews, Sam Newsome of Youngsville, N.C., and Cole Newsome of Youngsville, N.C.; a step-niece, Olivia Rae Newsome of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill., with Rev. Jerry Amiri officiating. Interment will be at Brown Cemetery in Old Ripley, Ill.
