Judy Mabery

Judy C. Mabery, nee Schuetz, 69, of Swansea, Ill., born Friday, June 30, 1944, in East Saint Louis, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center in Belleville, Ill.

Judy served as St. Clair County Veteran's Service Officer with the Illinois Department of Veteran's Affairs since 1989 and the Veterans Outreach and Information Center for 1985 to 1989. She served two years in US Army and four years with the US Army Reserve 892nd Transportation Company in Belleville, Ill. She was a member of the American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Virginia Lee, nee Harton, Schuetz Kretschmer and Wilfred Kretschmer; father, Ernest F. Schuetz; grandparents, Henry and Julia Catherine, nee Harrigan, Schuetz, George and Sarah Valena, nee White, Harton and Fred and Lena, nee Simpson, Kretschmer.

Surviving are her daughter, Robbin Lynn Mabery of Millstadt, Ill.; sister, Dee Ellen, nee Kretschmer, Cleveland of Belleville, Ill.; dear cousins and dear great-aunts.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Karen Landwehr officiating. Entombment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
