George Abshier

George V. Abshier, 94, formerly of Belleville, Ill., born March 19, 1920, in Devers, Texas, died Monday, April 28, 2014, in Tarzana, Calif.

Mr. Abshier worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Rose Ann, nee Fak, Abshier, whom he married on April 12, 1947, and who died on May 25, 2004; and his parents, E.F. and Ella, nee Clayton, Abshier.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen L. (Dennis) Steffe of Topanga, Calif., and Pamela A. (Doug) George of Mosca, Colo.; a grandchild, Dereck (Marnie) Steffe of Mount Kisco, N.Y.; a brother, Clarence A. Abshier of Port Arthur, Texas; and many caring nieces, nephews, and their families.
