William Crabtree

William D. "Bill" Crabtree, 83, of Belleville, Ill., born Monday, Feb. 16, 1931, in St. Louis, Mo., died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at his residence.

Bill worked as a Engineer for Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of the East Lodge 504 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine, Directors Staff, Drum and Bugle Corp, Aide, Belleville, Dania and Troy - Edwardsville Shrine Clubs, Southern Illinois Court 86 ROJ, Elks 664, American Legion 1255, T & T Golf Club and BLE. Bill was a Korean War Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Leta, nee Gordon, Crabtree; brothers, James Crabtree and John Crabtree; and sister, Patricia Henderson.

Surviving are his wife, Fran, nee Fischer, Crabtree of Belleville, Ill.; children, Susan (Stephen) Kusmer of Mount Vernon, Ill., Kevin Jones of Belleville, Ill., and Thomas (Suzy) Jones of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Linda (Larry) Smith of Belleville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Jackie Crabtree of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Shawn Jones, Kirsten Kusmer, Cody Jones, Cory (Jill) Jones and Kimberly (Doug) Franklin; and great-grandchildren, Kelly Jones, Cameron Jones, Logan Jones and Hunter Franklin; and dear nieces and nephews

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. There will be Jester walk through at 7:13 p.m., followed by Directors Staff and Drum and Bugle Corp. Masonic Service to be held at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Father John Iffert officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
