Harry "Bill" Counts

Harry "Bill" Counts, 89, of Granite City, Ill., born Nov. 4, 1926, in Farmington, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City, Ill.

Bill was a maintenance mechanic at General Motors and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his granddaughter and all the special times they shared together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jessie, nee Sutton, Counts.

Bill is survived by and will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Edna, nee Warren, Counts; daughter, Debbie and (Joe) Womble of Granite City; his granddaughter, Emily Sirko of Miami, Fla.; his brothers and sisters, Clyde and (Gloria) Counts of Maryville, Ill., Mary Ellen and (Richard) White of Desoto, Mo., Irma Jean and (Ed) Johnson of Doe Run, Mo., David Counts of Cahokia, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Partner's for Pets.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 23, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, May 23, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Henry Crippen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Ill.
